James joined Radnor Capital in 2024 after over 30 years in investment management. James joins Radnor from Spouting Rock Asset Management where he served as Chief Investment Officer Small Cap, starting in 2017. He was responsible for managing the Small Cap Growth strategy and team. Prior, James was employed by Kalmar Investments from 2013-2017 as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst and rose to become Co-leader of the Investment Team. Kalmar managed equities in a mutual fund and sub advisory relationships. James began his investment career at Inverness Counsel, Inc. in New York, 1987-1993, ultimately rising to Vice President, portfolio manager. Following research and portfolio management roles at Gardner Lewis Asset Management and E.R. Taylor Investments, he joined Friess Associates in 2001. During 12 years there he became a Team Leader and Principal. He graduated from Macalester College with a BA in International Studies and is a current member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia. James serves on the Finance and Investment Committees of the HMS School, formerly Audit Committee and Investment Committees of the Willistown Conservation Trust and the Investment Committee of Neighborhood House.
